The role
You'll take tenders from the documents stage through to award, across earthworks, drainage, services, roads, pavements and concrete.
What you'll do
- Read drawings, specifications and scopes, then do the quantity take-offs
- Estimate labour, plant, materials and subcontract costs
- Issue RFQs, set subcontractor scopes and assess the quotes that come back
- Work out methodology, production rates, durations and resourcing
- Prepare pricing schedules and BOQs, and flag risks, exclusions and qualifications
- Attend site inspections and pre-tender meetings
What you'll bring
- Civil construction estimating experience, or a closely related civil role
- A strong grasp of civil methods, plant and productivity rates
- Solid take-off, cost analysis and commercial skills, and an understanding of construction contracts
- Accuracy under tender deadlines
- Confidence with estimating and take-off software
